Signs of Infertility
It can be quite worrying if you’ve been trying to get pregnant and things just aren’t going to plan. As each month goes by you might start wondering if there really is something wrong with you or your partner’s reproductive health. Infertility by the majority of doctors is said to mean the inability to get pregnant within a year of actively trying to conceive. So besides this time factor what other signs of infertility might there be that tell you things aren’t as they perhaps should be?
There are some serious medical conditions that can indeed result in infertility but they are most often obvious and would be known to you although not always. Amenorrhea is when you experience no menstrual cycle at all over a continued period of time and would be related to reproductive issues. So what are some of the less subtle signs of infertility?
Painful periods, although common, are a sign that things aren’t functioning as smooth as they could be. If you generally experience a form of mild cramping then you probably don’t have too much to worry about. However, if you endure serious to acute period pain this is one of the signs of infertility.
The best thing you can do if you are worried that your acute period pains might be serious is to seek help from your doctor. You need to be aware of what is causing your pain so it can be treated. Ask your doctor to check for problems such as uterine fibroids, endometriosis and other such conditions that are related to your signs of infertility.
If you experience any other unusual things such as spotting, short or unusually long menstrual cycles then these too could be signs of infertility. Be sure to discuss your entire cycle and accompanying symptoms with your doctor who will then be able to help treat any specific problems. Most things are treatable and once you start to improve those conditions you will in turn increase your chances of getting pregnant.
