Trying To Conceive Second Time Around
Trying to conceive can be a very exciting time for couples who have never had a baby before, trying for your second baby can be exciting too. A sibling for your first born and living again all those magic moments of first smiles, first words, first steps all make for exciting times. It can come as a rude shock if getting pregnant the second time around isn’t happening as fast as you’d like though.
Many women who fall pregnant quickly for their first baby will not always have the same luck second time around. Secondary infertility, not able to conceive after having already had a baby, can be very stressful and confusing.
It would seem only logical that if you’ve been able to have a baby before then why not again? There are many factors that are important for successful conception, not the least of which is age. Age, lifestyle habits and general wellbeing could all have changed since the first coneption resulting in a reduction in the chances of getting pregnant.
If you already have a baby and are thinking of ‘waiting awhile’ before the next, ensure that you take into consideration your age and any future stresses you can forsee in the short to medium term future, such as moving house, caring for a sick relative or travelling.
If you have been trying to conceive second time around for many months without success and you have no obvious medical conditions as to why, then you might need to consider your age and lifestyle habits. If both of these things are in the realms where they work against you then you need to be aware of all you can do to ensure your reproductive health is at its optimum.
